Hi friends! I thought I’d do an update!
Im really going to try my hardest to post a new blog every week.
-First off, thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the Robinson family who started a little fundraiser for our Baby K. If you want more information, please ask!
This week we had baby K’s heart and brain appointment here local at Riverbend hospital. There wasn’t any new big news. And for that I’m so so thankful! However baby’s hydrocephalus(fluid on the brain) has gone up a tad, as this hearts my heart I know we will be okay and he will be just fine! His brain is now being pulled just a tad due to his spine continuing to be pulled. However, I know the Doctors have it all under control. I’m truly letting God handle this whole journey because I truly can’t sit here and be an emotional wreck and be a mess with my two kiddos at home with me.
This week I also was able to finally chat with Doernbechers(Spinal hospital in Portland, OR) and The Dr and his whole team are coming up with a big game plan for us and will be contacting us within this next week for the final game plan.
Here is where we currently sit being at seven months…
-I will still deliver at Doernbechers(2 hours away)
-Every appointment we have at OHSU will be with our whole team including the Dr and surgeons.
-It’s expected that for a while we will have an apt every week and they usually start close to 7am!
+I won’t lie:We are feeling extremely stressed for this next step in the journey. The king commutes, gas and money, feeling like we’re missing out with our two littles, figuring out lodging etc!
-Every apt we will get an in debth ultrasound and see baby!
-At 32 weeks they will do another full on ultrasound & stress test and that will determine a more accurate date for my delivery and also will determine where exactly we’re sitting as far as his lesion in his back—> csection bs vaginal
We continue to stand strong with our faith in The Lord and will continue to pray his brain can manage all the pulling and also will be praying the amount of liquid on his brain stays manageable. As time gets closer we will pray more so for his surgery and his stay in the nicu/our stay in Portland away from our home
